TERRESTRIAL HERBICIDE APPLICATIONS

Applying herbicides is one of the best methods of controlling unwanted vegetation. Over the years, the science of pesticides has evolved to be very sophisticated. There are chemicals that are “selective,” and kill only particular species of plants. There are chemicals that are “non-selective,” and will kill almost everything. Also, there are chemicals that can be applied that have a residual effect and will leave bare ground.

Coastal Plain Land and Lakes specializes in applying herbicides. Our services include: Spot Treatment - which is the application of herbicides to specific species in highly sensitive areas where there are desired and undesired plants present; Broadcast - which is a method of covering the whole area of growth. If the vegetation is mature and dense, we will use a boomless sprayer mounted onto a tractor. If the vegetation is lower, we normally use a sprayer with booms - in order to cut down on wind drift. For the control of larger woody plants, we employ the methods of Cut-Stump and Frill or Girdle. If we are spraying specialty areas such as fence lines or around decorative or agricultural trees, we will use a Spray Wand.
